Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Manage all manufacturing and functional operations for CPD PCD Haina business, and provides leadership for EHS, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, IT functions that support Haina Campus. Ensures safety, quality, production, and financial/cost objectives are met consistently with overall fulfillment of the Eaton Business System requirements. Oversees DR legal compliance accordingly to requirements and assure implementation of Corporate policies and procedures among the functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops, plans and implements programs to achieve strategic and profit plan goals that meet divisional and corporate objectives. Provide visionary objectives that utilize competitive comparisons/benchmarking to ensure long term operational success. Develops plant budgets and forecasts and assures timely implementation and control. In conjunction with the overall Division, develops strategic plans for the facility, short term and long term. Directs PCD plant functions including Manufacturing, Engineering/Technical Services, Supply Chain, Quality, CI, Finance, EHS and Human Resources Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO9000, OSHA regulations, and all National and Local laws as they apply to their areas of responsibility. Acts as liaison, monitors and interprets divisional/corporate policies and directives. Delegates and monitors plant operations for compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies relative to affirmative actions (if applicable), safety, environmental and similar requirements. Coordinates new products as well as phase out of old products using ProLaunch. Interacts with customers (internal and external) to ensure understanding of their expectations and achievement of their satisfaction of plant products and services. Manages operating and capital expenses to achieve financial commitments and acts as accounting representative for the site. Assures prompt and accurate reporting systems on all aspects of plant operations including inventory, labor, production, shipping and receiving to monitor performance against plant objectives Represents the company in community and professional activities. Builds organizational capability and drives talent management programs and processes. Leads, mentors, and develops direct reports and subordinates – creates an environment of accountability. Establishes goals and assures performance to goals. Enhances employee relations through open and consistent communications and leadership practices. Direct the plant safety and environmental processes to insure a safe workplace for all employees and visitors. Partner with the marketing group and the Power Components Division for projects / products improvements. Direct the operational excellence improvement efforts. Leads the organization in the effective deployment and continuous improvement of all EBS components: EBS Pull Strategy Deployment, EQMS, MESH, HRSW, ELSS/CI, ProLaunch, OpA Leads the annual objective planning process for the plant, in alignment with the plant leadership team, divisional and group/region/corporate goals and strategies. Communicates information to employees on the state of the operation and leads the communications efforts of the facility. Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS): Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator. Assist to all EHS training assigned. Provide all resources needed to ensure that all MESH policies and procedures all performed by his/her personal under his/her supervision. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finances or other related areas. Master’s degree in finance, Operation Management or others related areas (Preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing/operations areas. Full Bilingual (English/Spanish) PC knowledge: Microsoft Office, AS400, Vista, Oracle, Mapics. Requires an administrative knowledge of finance/accounting, budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure analysis, and cost administration Requires a working knowledge of corporate, division and plant policies and procedures. Knowledge of governmental requirements for the location is preferred. Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, as well as safety/environmental compliance experience. Strong knowledge in manufacturing and quality assurance practices. Preferable: Lead Auditor ISO9001, ISO14000 and Greenbelt Champion. OpA assessor is a plus. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities: Manager EHS-Shared: Plan, Organize, coordinate and lead process, providing technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations, local legal compliance and corporate requirements, including Campus Security Items, to create a Zero incident culture Manager ENG/SVT: Drive continuous improvement and provide technical support to the manufacturing areas. Determine production operation standards, personnel and equipment required to fulfill customer needs and expectations. Controller Plant-Shared: Direct the financial activities of the D.R. operations for the different plants. Ensure that the financial records, statements, and activities are in compliance with Corporate and Divisional Policy, and generally accepted accounting principles. Manager HR-Shared: Establish and maintain an environment that will develop people and facilitate cooperative, efficient, and effective efforts in the pursuit of organizational goals of productivity, competitiveness, and profitability through the human resources of plants at Dominican Republic. Manager QLT: Attain quality and productivity goals, through continuous improvement. Develop plans and lead the implementation to drive results. Deploy the applicable elements and initiatives of EBS to accomplish the business goals. Manager SCM: Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control the supply chain processes, including functions such as materials planning, scheduling, purchasing, customer service and for logistics, along with the execution of all company rules, policies, procedures and programs in support of the Eaton’s goals and objectives. Lead and/or support projects and/or initiatives based on business needs Manager Manufacturing: Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control the manufacturing processes, to attain productivity and operations goals. Manager CI: Plan, organize, direct and coordinate Lean / Continuous improvement processes, to support World Class Manufacturing for the operation. Understanding and interpretation of DR labor laws to upper management, for legal differences (often limitations) to be taken in consideration when making decisions for this site.
