Job Description Summary:

The PMO Manager LATAM, will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will guide, develop and assist with the engineering teams of the different plants in the good Execution of Capital projects: Expansions, remodeling, major equipment both in the plant and offices, ensuring regulatory compliance, local regulations, and Abbott guidelines; also, in the improvement of energy use and sustainable development (water, waste, energy), which help the plants and the region to achieve or exceed the proposed objectives

Central Job Responsibilities

  • Helps in the justification of strategic investment projects
  • Development of Front-End Planning and design review
  • Directs the execution of the projects
  • Manage the resources assigned to the project (s)
  • Promote compliance with local regulations and / or compliance with corporate guidelines
  • Promote a culture of energy saving
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Assist in the achievement of the financial objectives of the region.
  • Evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project.
  • Lead the most complex or critical engineering projects.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Select, and manage ongoing relationships with external contractors so that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Select, lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of project managers to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to project specifications.

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Projects executed in accordance with the investment plan
  • Projects delivered on time, within budget and within the committed scope
  • All plants with performance indicators in project execution
  • Acceptance of the FEP by GES no later than the second round
  • Adherence to Abbott Rules, Local Regulations and Standards
  • Comprehensive development of collaborators in "Project Management"

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering; Master’s Degree preferrable
  • 5-8 years of project management and capital project development within an operations/manufacturing environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Languages:  English / Spanish / Portuguese
