How you will make an impact:

The role will facilitate implementation of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System at the site level to enable profitable growth, intensify the customer focus and increase employee engagement. The position collaborates with key partners to lead projects and kaizen events by deploying structured problem solving to improve systems and eliminate waste. The role involves facilitating the lean fundamentals. It also involves developing capability in these areas by training teams and providing coaching through the Kaizen events and Just Do It activities.

What will you do:

  • Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience and become more efficient.
  • Champion an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve critical metrics, in the areas of customer, finance, people and quality.
  • Provide support to develop problem solving capability within the organization at all levels
  • Train, mentor and follow-up with teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the leaders are running the processes independently
  • Work closely with site PPI steering committee to identify ways to accelerate the vital culture improvements
  • Provide ongoing support to multiple teams
  • Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management systems
  • Work with the corporate PPI team to develop/promote/standardize the PPI Business System further and share standard methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
  • A holistic problem solver who can look site-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit
  • Passion and ability to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams
  • Experience driving success through Visual Management, Tier boards, RCCM, 5S, PDSA, etc
  • Excellent communicator, including validated written, oral and presentation skills
  • Broad understanding of multi-functional processes and financial business methods
  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct
  • Strong skills with MS Excel or other data analysis tools such as Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams
  • Leadership roles from fields such as operations, commercial, engineering, quality, or product management
  • Experience applying, guiding, and mentoring teams on the use of Lean / Six Sigma concepts of Visual Management, 5S, RCCM, FMEA, Pareto charts, run charts, etc.
  • A Lean Practitioner with proven experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful groundbreaking projects
  • Experience in problem-solving utilizing a formal program/process (PPI, Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, DBS Business System, etc.)

Education:

BS in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing or related field

Location/Division Specific Information

This position is based in our Franklin, Massachusetts facility supporting our Chemical Analysis Division.
