SCAD seeks a public relations and marketing manager to champion the accomplishments of the university and its talented community.
In this Hong Kong-based position, you will promote students, alumni, faculty and administration, as well as associated events for select schools within the university. You will write press materials, pull media lists, assemble press clippings, and distribute Hong Kong news releases regarding student and alumni awards and recognition, and university partnerships, events and conferences.
Promotion will also entail the development of trend stories and special initiatives that will bring recognition and actively advance the university’s mission. You will oversee interviews and small press events, and maintain content for social media marketing vehicles, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr, Weibo and WeChat. Using data analytics, you will demonstrate that your campaigns had a meaningful impact on the university’s recruitment and general marketing key performance indicators, as well as provide wrap-up reports with a focus on data for departments and key stakeholders.
Additionally, you will work with identified spokespeople to ensure that they are trained to handle all media relations and provide support at large- and small-scale events.
The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to invent creative solutions for demand generation and reputation management problems, as well as the ability to develop multimedia content that people love and share within their personal networks.
You should have a marketer’s mindset for KPIs and a clear understanding of the vocabulary, culture and technical qualities of social media platforms. Candidates will be expected to show examples of their previous successful social media campaigns.
Exceptional presentation, communication and organization skills are essential to this role, including the ability to successfully multitask, plan, coordinate and prioritize. You should be self-motivated, able to work both independently and within a team, and display excellent project and calendar management skills in a fast paced, results-orientated environment.
Requirements:
–Bachelor’s degree
–Four to five years of related experience in public relations and marketing
–Public relations experience with education, art, architecture, design and/or historic preservation preferred
–English fluency required; Cantonese and Mandarin highly desired
