A new exciting role has been created within the Global Care & Treats Packaging team, based in the Global Innovation Centre Birstall. This role is critical to support our future innovation, growth, and sustainability plans for packaging.

 

Projects are highly complex in terms of design, expected technical solutions (materials and machinery), network timings and global scale. The associate will work closely with global and regional cross functional teams and will have leadership and autonomy of technical solutions delivered. Expectation to define & drive the strategic approach for this area of packing development. The role has a specific focus on packaging machinery design and implementation; therefore, the role holder will require a strong and influential partnership with the supply & engineering community and a strong external network of suppliers.

 

What are we looking for?

• University Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Extensive packaging engineering/packaging machinery interaction experience essential.
• Experience of FMCG and/or flexibles packaging supply base is an advantage.
• Proven track record in driving and promoting manufacturing innovations
• Fluent in English (verbally and written) with excellent interpersonal skills: communication, relationship building, networking, team working.

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Be accountable for ensuring the delivery of packaging components/machinery solutions for global C&T innovation projects with a specific focus on the material/machinery interaction.
• Take projects from ideas to technical readiness and manage the packaging timeline & budget.
• Be accountable for providing the technical support to local teams to ensure the seamless deployment and implementation of global packaging innovations, with a specific focus on the material/machinery interaction.
• Have full accountability across all Global packaging projects as technical leader for packing implementation. Working in seamless collaboration with the Packaging Innovation Developers and Sustainability Leader to ensure new packaging solutions can be fully implemented into supply units and follow on deployment sites.
• Take a leading role in building global packaging capability with respect to packaging machinery innovation.  Help lead the creation and ongoing management of a ‘Packaging Pilot Plant’ for material and machinery trailing and sign off. The role holder would own this area.
• Develop a detailed technical knowledge and understanding of the internal packaging development process and associated and aligned business processes.
• Provide the machinery understanding and requirements to allow new packaging materials to be filled and packed. There is a specific requirement to help support the delivery of new future sustainable packaging solutions.
• Have a lead role in partnering the Packaging Innovation associates in their projects with the packing and implantation phase of projects.
