Major Duties

• With supervision from manager of packaging development, review, recommend, test and implement various proposals for packaging design. Collaborate with project initiator on project objectives and expectations.
• Utilize various packaging material substrates in the design of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging that minimizes material usage and labor implications while enhancing retail acceptance.
• Determines impact on new packaging design to existing and new automation at manufacturing locations.
• Modify designs accordingly to optimize manufacturing and labor efficiency. Recommend, select and execute packaging designs.
• Develop design of experiment/test methodologies on packaging materials.
• Responsible for determining packaging material specifications to maintain product integrity. This includes development of appropriate design to maximize long term quality and shelf life of product while minimizing cost.
• Conduct analytical testing on materials and interpret data findings. Propose design recommendations to customer as result of findings.
• Ensure project success by keeping project on schedule through written and oral correspondence while evaluating technical data, i.e. lab results, collaborative tests, distribution tests and line trials.
• Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new and emerging trends in packaging technology. Identify areas of opportunity to implement these new technologies into packaging solutions.
• Assess and resolve packaging design problems on existing items. Work with team members to implement quality processes and system improvements as result of findings to ensure long term corrective actions. This includes better product presentation at retail. Manage multiple projects to meet established timelines.
• Ensures the accuracy of specifications issued, including technical drawings and written text.
• Maintain the packaging related data system, including PCM, TOPs, GPSS and so on.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

• Knowledge or experience of Illustrator, Photoshop and AutoCAD software, and basic understanding of printing technologies are preferred

Education：BS or MS in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering Material science.
