Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Packaging Operator, are to: 

 

 

  • Visually inspect product vials for defects
  • Inspect media filled vials for evidence of contamination (turbidity)
  • Inspect packaging components for quality
  • Assemble product and components for packaging operation according to production schedule, BOM (bill of materials) or instruction from the assistant supervisor or supervisor.
  • Safely operate equipment for conducting packaging operations
  • Setup packaging line and equipment
  • Distribute components, supplies and product to packaging stations as needed to maintain packaging operations.
  • Unload products from storage containers and examine for defect in container’s closure systems or product contents.
  • Check for correct lot information on product containers and components.
  • Organize and remove product in and out of 2-8C cold room
  • Secure and store all in-process products and components in their proper areas.
  • Move skids, transit trays, hand trucks and other containers of product, components, bottles, equipment or other items as required for efficient operation of the department.
  • Seal, stack, and secure cases of packaged product on skids for transport to shipping department at the conclusion of packaging operations.
  • Determine accurate counts of containers filled for product and accountability.
  • Perform line clearances
  • Perform all functions in a safe and cGMP compliant manner
  • Perform inventory counts.
  • Record information in log books and Batch Production Records.
  • Perform housekeeping/janitorial duties as required to maintain satisfactory working environment.
  • Perform other departmental duties as required

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  •  Must be able to comprehend and follow written instructions
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Must be able to maintain output at established line speeds
  • Must be able to work without wearing heavy makeup, hand lotion.
  • Must be able to pass annual vision testing.
  • Must be able to pass annual inspection qualification trials.
  • Must meet acceptable attendance and performance parameters.
  • Must be able to work overtime on weekends and holidays as required and with appropriate notice.
  • Must be able to effectively work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English in order to understand instructions contained in SOP’s, BPR’s, etc.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • cGMP experience preferred
  • Visual inspection experience preferred
  • Experience operating automated equipment preferred

     

  • ·Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 300 lbs.
  • Must be able to work sitting or standing for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to wear gloves (latex, nitrile, or cotton) at all times while handling product.
  • Repetitive hand/wrist motions, bending, twisting.
  • Must be able to work in an atmosphere that can/will have some dust, corrugated materials, and chemicals.
  • Maintain cGMP and site safety standards at all times.

     

  • Inspection booths with magnification and lamps.
