Packaging Operator - Contractor

DESCRIPTION: Setup, operate, and clear packaging line equipment and/or ancillary support equipment to meet efficiency expectations. Replenish packaging materials like wrapping paper, plastic sheets, boxes, cartons, and labeling systems to include ink, glue and paper. Inspect in-process packaging to endure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material in the process. Segregate finished packaged items from machine that conform to specification and separate rejected items. Conduct inventory count on finished and rejected packaged items. Monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products in accordance to standards. Monitor the packaging production line to forestall potential bottlenecks, pile-ups, jams, glue not sticking properly or labels being stamp in the wrong location. Place daily emphasis on meeting production standards, achieving product quality standards and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. Know and follow cGMP practices, safe work habits, plant dress code, hygiene standards and housekeeping requirements unusual to the work area and job classification. Perform light-duty maintenance work and general housekeeping in area and assist maintenance or other team members in area. It is critical to be on time and available for each scheduled shift. Primary position responsibilities include: Labeling and packaging various size vials/bottles, data entry in SAP (Systems Applications and products in data Processing), general housekeeping.

SPECIFIC JOB POSTING INFORMATION: Candidates or workers who own birds at their personal property or have come in contact with birds within the last 48 hours are not permitted at the Winslow, Maine facility. Candidates who come in regular contact with any kind of birds are ineligible for this assignment. For manufacturing roles, gowning will require changing clothing in a gender specific common area.

SHIFT: Monday – Friday
7:00 am – 3:30 pm

EXPERIENCE: Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to work as a member of a team as well as independently. Must have a good work ethic, positive attitude and good attendance.

Preferred Skills:
Minimum of 1 yr. experience operating powered industrial trucks (powered pallet jacks/stackers/forklifts).
Experience using SAP or other types of electronic inventory systems.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
