Here at Mars Petcare Australia, we have a great opportunity for a Packaging Supplier Quality Assurance Technologist to join the Commercial team which can be based at either our Wodonga, Ballarat or Bathurst sites. 
In this key role, you will work with suppliers to help them meet the Mars specification and quality requirements for all Packaging materials and formats into the Bathurst and Wodonga Petcare plants that produce our iconic pet brands such as Whiskas, Pedigree and Dine.

As a direct conduit to the Commercial buying team you will validate, verify and manage ongoing supply of all Packaging materials and work closely with Supply, Q&FS and R&D to ensure the packaging received are fit for purpose and meeting the quality needs of our manufacturing sites.

Whilst we do offer flexibility in the role, there will be an expectation of a small amount of interstate travel involved to complete supplier audits.

What would be your key responsibilities?
•    Audit our upstream suppliers and manufacturers according to our Mars Audit standard
•    Validate and verify new supplier opportunities through our Mars Packaging Quality Management Standard (PQM)
•    Drive compliance and continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers
•    Handle any Packaging Quality issues and follow up Supplier corrective actions

What are we looking for?
•    Previous experience in supplier relationship management ideally in a consumer goods manufacturing environment
•    Experience in auditing Packaging goods and a solid understanding of root cause analysis
•    Be able to deliver results, having solid prioritising ability yet able to work in an ambiguous environment 
•    Ability to stand alone and lean into the more challenging conversations whilst coming with a pragmatic approach
