We are looking for an experienced Packaging and Install Solutions Lead in DevOps and Release Engineering team. This team is responsible for CI/CD, Packaging, Install, final validation, and release of Intel oneAPI and other software products to the market. As Packaging and Install Solution Lead you will have a special focus on promoting the DevOps model to increase developer productivity through well-orchestrated automated services in various stages of continuous integration and continuous delivery to produce high-quality software products via different software distribution channels: Windows MSI, Nuget, CONDA, YUM/APT, MacOS DMG, Docker containers, Offline installers etc.
You must have a very deep understanding of various development tools and technologies to produce and distribute software. This is a hands-on technical role but with a high degree of collaboration to drive cultural change and raise the maturity levels of the Continuous Delivery practices. Enable developers to ship high-quality products and features with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support. You will also be working on driving improvements in design, development, automation, and maintenance of release processes based on DevOps principles.
In this role, you will:
• Make Intel Software Installers part of oneAPI startup experience with industry standards level,
• Delight customers to support their installation use cases out of the box,
• Improve oneAPI binary installation success rate and exceed industry standards,
• Contribute to release process automation based on existing services written in Python and create new ones,
• Work closely with other Software Leads to do productization scalability for Intel Software.

Responsabilities:

  • Serve as a key leader and expert on our install solution products
  • Lead a project that creates innovative on-demand download and install solution
  • Design and lead a team to implement and support Continuous Integration and Deployment Pipelines.
  • Design and lead team to implementing automation to improve efficiency
  • CI/CD Packaging Onboarding
  • Mentor junior members in the team
  • Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common capabilities


Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or electrical engineering or computer engineering or related technical discipline ("Cedula Profesional" may be required) with 10+ years of experience in the following skills: or 15+ years of experience without Degree:

  • Strong experience with creating install solution for large scale software product suites
  • SW design and development with solid experience in technical leadership on successful projects
  • Strong experience with Linux and Windows OS (system and services knowledge, application-level SW development)
  • Understanding of SW architecture principles and approaches to design and development of reliable, scalable, and modular SW systems
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts and successful examples of applying DevOps methods and practices; understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Advanced English (oral and written)

And 6+ years of experience with:

  • Working with distributed source control management system such as git.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and processes.
  • Understanding modern DevOps tools and concepts, Log analytics management.
  • Experience with make, gcc, python, bash on Linux (Ubuntu, SLES).
  • Strong analytical skills in debugging issues with Software Installation both Windows/Linux
  • Cloud Architecture

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
