Eaton’s Electrical Sector - Canada is currently seeking 2 Paint Line Operator positions in EPC (Edmonton Power Centre) to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton, AB location. Position Overview: Reporting to the Production Coordinator this position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the Manual Powder Coat system, the Spray-painting process and Material Handling during the loading and unloading of parts. ***Please note that this is a Monday through Thursday position working from 3:30 pm to 2 am. The shifts will be 10 hour shifts and eligible for overtime after the 10th hour. There will be a $1 dollar per hour shift premium assigned for this rotation. Training will initially be provided on the day shift for 2-4 weeks at the commencement of employment (Monday to Friday from 7am to 330 pm). In this function you will: Adhere to detailed specifications, work instructions, manufacturing information and written or verbal instructions from supervision. Ensure the chemical concentricity (mix) and pH levels are within recommended range. Perform titration test & trouble shoot chemical concentricity (mix) and pH level variations. Ensure the long-term integrity of the Powder Coating System by identifying & replacing wearable components as required. Ensure the cure oven temp vs. line speed is providing the proper environment to reach the appropriate dwell times and cure times for the powder. Replace Wash System Chemical as required. Maintain the integrity of the Pre-Treat system and ensure the waste solution does not exceed environmental limitations. Maintain Powder in proper containers and storage requirements. Prepare requisition for buyer to procure required powder paint supply. Keep supervisor informed on powder paint and related supply inventory. Manually paint all standard, non-standard colors and touch ups to standard colors, mixing and preparing paint according to specifications. Prepare material for paint process, identifying appropriate tools and method to ensure clean smooth surfaces. Inspect final product for cosmetic, coverage, cure, adhesion and thickness. Load and Unload product from the paint line rails. Prioritize jobs per required date and/or based on supervision direction. Inform supervisor of potential production or material problems, including delay in shipment. Regularly maintain equipment as per Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) sheet including daily maintenance on guns and equipment. (Powder Booths/Pre-Wash/Waste Water Treatment/or General Systems) Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum of one-year experience in a manufacturing environment or six months assembly experience required. High School Diploma required. Preferred qualifications: 1 plus year of experience working on a paint line in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Position Criteria: Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics is an asset. Ability to perform standard work procedures and processes. Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment required for assembly. Good problem solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability. No Sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
