As a Junior Fire Alarm Technician / Inspector you will wok alongside a Senior Technician for on-site preventative maintenance inspections, and assist with troubleshooting. In this role, you will help perform monthly, quarterly and annual inspections of Fire Alarm System, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting System and Fire Hoses as per all applicable Local Fire Codes, ULC (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada) Standards and NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) guidelines. You will work alongside more experienced Technicians. What will you do? Working alongside a Senior Technician to: Help perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on different Fire Safety Systems. Help provide rotational regular and after-hours Emergency On-call Service. Assist with completing Inspection Reports as per the appropriate ULC and NFPA standards Other duties as assigned i.e. assist other technicians What will you need to succeed? 1-2 years’ field technician experience within the Fire Alarm Industry or electrical/electronics installations Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs and climb ladders or scaffolding Good oral and written communications Competent with computers and possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work well under supervision Ability to read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation and service manuals Asset: Diploma in Electrical Electronic Technology Asset: ASTT, CFAA registered Fire Alarm Technician certification or enrolled to complete About us.
