School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE)

The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor degree and master’s degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree and degree holders in collaboration with both local and overseas universities. Applications are now invited for the part-time Lecturer post for the programme of Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours) offered at SHAPE (Tsing Yi) in the academic year 2019/20. Subject Areas:
(i) Advanced Power Systems
(ii) Protection and High Voltage Engineering
(iii) Power System Analysis and Control
(iv) Variable Speed Drives
(v) Renewable Electrical Energy Systems
(vi) Engineering Design 4A / 4B


Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties at bachelor degree level, including supervision of students' projects, laboratories and field works;
(b) To review and prepare teaching and learning packages with both international and local contexts and practices;
(c) To carry out administration duties and attend meetings in relation to student and academic administration; and
(d) To participate in school projects and functions, where necessary.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized Master degree in related disciplines;
(b) At least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary / degree level or relevant work experience in Electrical Engineering; and
(c) Experience in research, dissertation / project supervision is highly preferable.
