Job Description

Major Duties & Requirements

The appointees will mainly be responsible for the course planning, development and delivery of the undergraduate/postgraduate programmes.  Major duties include lecturing and tutoring, writing lecture notes, grading of assignments/examination scripts as well as conducting other teaching activities for the following course(s).  Requirements for relevant courses are specified as follows:

 

Master of Arts in Applied English Linguistics

  • LANG A887F Critical Discourse Analysis

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience.  Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

The appointees will be required to work on weekday evenings or Saturday/Sunday on campus for the period from late September 2020 to January 2021 for a maximum of 17 hours per week. For further details, please contact Dr Michael Cheuk (E-mail: kccheuk@ouhk.edu.hk).

 

Master of Arts in Bilingual Professional Translation

  • TRAN A800BF Research Issues in Translation Studies

Applicants should possess a higher degree in translation or a relevant discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience in language and/or translation.  Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Chinese Language and Literature or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant teaching experience in Putonghua at tertiary level.

Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology and Mental Health

  • COUN A111F Introduction to Public Health

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Psychology, Public Health or a related discipline.  They should have teaching/professional experience.  Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Compensation Package

Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
