Job Description

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19 AY, twelve programmes are included in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. Major Duties:

The appointee shall report to the Dean and engage in delivering lectures and conducting tutorials for the Faculty.


Requirements:

Specialism: Sports Coaching

Subjects include (a) Performance Measurement & Analyses; (b) Talent Identification & Long-Term Development, (c) Fitness Coaching & Management, (d) Coaching and Teaching water sports, (e) Coaching and Teaching Individual/team Sports (f) Wellness and Lifestyle Management, (g) Exercise Physiology, and (h) Exercise Nutrition.


The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Sports Coaching, Exercise Physiology or relevant discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant work experience and/or teaching experience at tertiary level, and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese.


Specialism: Sports Therapy

Subjects include (a) Rehabilitation of Special Populations, (b) Professional Practice & Clinical Leadership in Sports Therapy, (c) Motor Learning, (d) Management of Sports Injury, (e) Principles and Practice of Sports Therapy, (f) Sport Massage, (g) Corrective Strapping and Tapping, (h) Manual Therapy, and (i) Pitch-side Emergency Medical Service.


The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Sports Therapy or relevant discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant work experience and/or teaching experience at tertiary level, and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese. He/she should be a physician, registered nurse, or registered physiotherapist, or with potential for registration with the Physiotherapists Board of Hong Kong, or sports therapist registered with the Society of Sports Therapists in the UK.
