Education Infrastructure Division
Salary : $260 per hour (Contract Period : 1 year) (Required to work not more than 18 hours per week)
Duties : (a) To review, categorise and catalogue the existing reports and deliverables of the completed research and development projects; (b) To create and maintain a database for the reports and deliverables; (c) To assist in digitisation of the reports and deliverables; (d) To assist in organising the World Book Day Fest; (e) To provide administrative support in matters relating to the work of SCOLAR [See Remarks (i)]; and (f) To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors.
Entry Requirements : (a) A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree majoring in any one of the following subjects: Chinese Language, English Language, Chinese Language education or English Language education, or equivalent; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution preferably in Chinese Language or English Language, or equivalent; (c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Remarks (iii)] results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent; and (d) At least four years’ relevant post-degree experience in teaching Chinese Language or English Language, curriculum development, quality assurance, school improvement and/or school support focusing on Chinese Language or English Language education at pre-primary, primary or secondary level.
Remarks for Posts :
(i)The Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) was established in 1996 to advise Government on language education issues in general as well as on the use of the Language Fund.
(ii)The application period for the posts of Part-time Project Officer (Language)1 and Part-time Project Officer (Language)2 are from 23 August 2019 (Friday) to 6 September 2019 (Friday).
(iii)The results of the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers in the CRE are classified as Level 2, Level 1 or Fail, with Level 2 being the highest. Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE); or Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade C or above in UE of the HKALE; or Grade C or above in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level), is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.
