Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee shall assist the Project Investigator in a research project examining the Chinese writing composed by secondary students in Hong Kong. He/She will mainly  be responsible for the following:
  • transcribing the written Chinese lagnauge data;
  • cross-checking the transcribed data;
  • performing preliminary data analysis; and
  • carrying out other relevant tasks as assigned by Project Investigator.

 

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
  • a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Chinese language studies or other language-related disciplines;
  • competency in computer skills (e.g.Chinese word processing);
  • excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
  • a strong sense of responsibility, and be able to work independently as well as in a team; and
  • preference will be given to those with good knowledge of Jyutping.

 

Compensation Package
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract starting from July 2020 for 4 months.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
