The appointee shall assist the Project Investigator in a research project examining the Chinese writing composed by secondary students in Hong Kong. He/She will mainly be responsible for the following:
- transcribing the written Chinese lagnauge data;
- cross-checking the transcribed data;
- performing preliminary data analysis; and
- carrying out other relevant tasks as assigned by Project Investigator.
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
- a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Chinese language studies or other language-related disciplines;
- competency in computer skills (e.g.Chinese word processing);
- excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
- a strong sense of responsibility, and be able to work independently as well as in a team; and
- preference will be given to those with good knowledge of Jyutping.
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract starting from July 2020 for 4 months. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
