Major Duties and Responsibilities

For Part-time Research Assistant (1)

The appointee will assist in a research project related to e-learning for interpreting training. He/she shall mainly be responsible for the followings:

• preparing interpreting learning materials;
• providing assistance in literature review; and
• performing other duties as assigned by the principal investigator.

For Part-time Research Assistant (2)

The appointee will assist in a research project related to e-learning for interpreting training. He/she shall mainly be responsible for the followings:

• data collection, such as developing questionnaires and conducting interviews
• data analyses, especially quantitative analysis 
• providing assistance in writing papers/reports; and
• performing other duties as assigned by the principal investigator.

Requirements

For Part-time Research Assistant (1)

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

• a bachelor's degree in Interpreting and Translation or a related discipline;
• preferably have experience in interpreting and research works;
• good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and
• detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet deadlines and work independently.

For Part-time Research Assistant (2)

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

• a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or a related discipline;
• good knowledge of advanced statistics and related software, such as SPSS
• preferably have experience in data analyses and research works;
• good command of English and Chinese; and
• detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet deadlines and work independently. 

Compensation Package

For Part-time Research Assistant (1)

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract and work not more than 17 hours per week between 3 February 2020 and 31 December 2020. Payment will be made on hourly basis. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.

For Part-time Research Assistant (2)

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract and work not more than 17 hours per week between 3 February 2020 and 31 July 2021. Payment will be made on hourly basis. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
