Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

• assisting in, and where necessary, undertaking course planning, development and delivery of the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes;
• conducting tutorials, marking assignments/examination scripts; and
• performing other related teaching and administrative duties.

Requirements

Requirements for relevant courses are specified as follows:

• ECON A121F Foundations of Social Sciences: Economics

Applicants should at least possess a recognized degree in Economics, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant higher degree and teaching experience at tertiary level.

• ECON A232F Introduction to Macroeconomics

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Economics or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• ECON A332F Applied Business Economics

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Economics or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• ENGL A221F The Structure of Modern English: Sounds and Meanings

Applicants should possess at least a recognized degree in English, Linguistics or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant higher degree and teaching experience at tertiary level.

• LANG A339F Pragmatics

Applicants should possess an honours degree in applied linguistics or linguistics or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant higher degree and teaching experience at tertiary level.

• POLS A330F Contemporary Political Theory

Applicants should at least possess a recognized degree in Political Science, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant higher degree and teaching experience at tertiary level.

• PSYC A328F Consumer Psychology

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology. Relevant teaching experience for similar courses at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• SOCI A221F Social Problems and Social Issues

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Sociology or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• SOCI A331F Perspectives and Issues on Contemporary Urban Development

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Sociology or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Compensation Package

Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions. The appointees will be required to work during daytime on campus for the period from January 2020 to June 2020 for a maximum of 17 hours per week.
