Lenovo's Strategy organization within IDG is incubating many new emerging
businesses to position for growth into the future. We are looking to hire a
Partner Manager, Commercial AR/VR reporting to the Commercial AR/VR Lead.
Essentially, we’ve created a startup within the larger Lenovo structure. This
role will be part of a large cross-functional team that includes hardware
engineering, software development, industrial/mechanical design, UX and global
sales. The project and role are critical to transforming Lenovo from a
preferred hardware supplier to a Solution-centric, innovation driven strategic
partner.
The Partner Manager is a multi-functional role that will help Lenovo create a
world-class enterprise partner ecosystem for Lenovo AR and VR products. We are
looking for an AR/VR Subject Matter Expert with several years of partnership
relations, business negotiations, and product and software experience working
in the AR and VR ecosystem (preferably at an AR headset manufacturer or
software vendor). You will focus on working with internal teams at Lenovo as
well as external partners to develop and close partnership agreements that
supports Lenovo’s global enterprise customer base. You’ll define and execute
an enterprise partner strategy for software and hardware, across the augmented
reality and virtual reality ecosystems that are strategic to Lenovo’s product
development and create revenue generating opportunities, while always focusing
on a customer solution-centric approach. You’ll work cross-functionally with
the Product, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, Procurement and Operations teams
to help our customers and partners succeed. The team is growing quickly, and
we need someone to join us from the existing AR/VR community so they can hit
the ground running. Ideally, this candidate will also have a technical
background with an understanding of the various software used to create AR/VR
glasses including SLAM, 3D reconstruction, markers/anchors, Unity (plugins),
workflow and other on-device software (with a focus on AR UX). This is a
unique opportunity to help drive this emerging business from the ground up.
The role will present ongoing status, results, and recommendations to Director
and VP levels. The candidate must be able to "fire-fight" on a daily basis,
and boil up to senior management with effective, efficient communication,
ultimately, driving concept to tangible products.
Responsibilities
• Define partner objectives for hardware, software and other strategic partner
companies.
• Negotiate complex IP, joint-development and reseller business agreements,
while including key stakeholders within Lenovo including product, engineering,
business development, vertical and procurement teams.
• Develop, manage and grow partner relationships.
• Contribute to market research and forecasting initiatives to help define
opportunities, risks, and revenue opportunities related to the partner
ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Lenovo’s strategic alliances team to define and execute on
major strategic alliance opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with multiple engineering, business development and
product teams to consistently provide a streamlined feedback system between
partners, and Lenovo product and engineering teams.
• Evangelize and act as a spokesperson for the Lenovo Commercial AR/VR
strategy with partners, customers and at industry events, trade shows and
conferences.
• Set, track, analyze, communicate, and execute against key business unit
milestones.
• Willingness and ability to travel 30-35% of the time, including some
international travel.

• B.S. in related fields.
• 5+ years working on technology partnerships and bringing them to market in
the AR and VR industry.
Preferred Qualifications
• M.S in related fields with MBA
Experience negotiating and closing partner agreements, including contribution
to the business, technology and legal elements of partner agreements.
• Experience working with product and engineering teams to translate needs
into strategic business opportunities.
• Exceptional analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with technical, contractual and financial negotiations with
partners.
