Next47, a leading venture capital firm focused on enterprise technology investments across US, Europe and Israel and with offices in Palo Alto, London, Paris, Munich, Berlin, and Tel Aviv, is looking to hire a Partner, Seed Funds. The Partner will manage Next47’s commitments to and relationships with a variety of seed-stage venture capital firms. Next47 has existing commitments to several seed funds and the Partner will manage these relationships while expanding our relationships with a wide variety of seed-stage firms across various geographies. The Partner will lead due diligence efforts in the evaluation of potential commitments to seed funds and present recommendations to an internal investment committee. In addition, the Partner will work closely with seed fund managers in order to source potential investment opportunities for Next47. This position is based in Palo Alto and reports to Next47’s Chief Operating Officer. The Role: Partner, Seed Funds Responsibilities: Become a thought leader in the seed-stage enterprise IT investment ecosystem across the US, Europe and Israel Develop and maintain relationships with a broad cross-section of seed-stage firms in these geographies Organize events that bring together seed-stage fund managers, seed-stage companies, and Next47 team members Help to define target criteria for Next47 to evaluate in analyzing whether to become a limited partner in a seed fund Lead diligence efforts in evaluating limited partner commitments to seed funds using industry-standard due diligence methodologies and processes Present opportunities for approval by investment committee and work with internal legal and finance teams to support commitments to seed managers Meet regularly with existing and prospective seed fund managers and attend annual limited partner meetings; publish detailed meeting notes Review materials received from seed funds to help identify companies that would be a potential match for a subsequent direct investment by Next47 Analyze and present trends within Next47 seed fund managers and across the broader seed-stage ecosystem to share insights with broader Next47 team Collaborate with Next47 investment team members by sharing relevant information from within our seed fund partners’ portfolio and by connecting investment team members with seed fund managers as appropriate Qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 15+ years of total work experience, with of mix progressive experience evaluating and managing commitments to private equity funds as a limited partner A minimum of 10 years as an investor in the venture capital ecosystem (either investing directly in venture-backed startups or investing in venture funds), with a minimum of five years leading and managing investments in venture capital funds Specific experience leading evaluation of venture capital funds for potential commitment by limited partners Strong network with venture capital fund GPs and within the venture capital limited partner community Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships necessary for sourcing seed fund investments opportunities as well as investment opportunities within seed fund managers’ portfolios Experience holding meetings with large numbers of venture capital fund managers and attending annual limited partner meetings Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations in a group setting Excellent organizational skills Self-starter with strong work ethic capable of working both independently and collaboratively Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Organization: Next47 Company: Next47 Inc.
