Partner Technical Consultant (PTC’s) cultivates the Microsoft Partner relationship by facilitating the delivery of reactive and proactive consultation services to support our partners’ needs. The PTCs focus on supporting technical presales and deployment scenarios, driving skills transfer/ enablement and adoption of Microsoft products and solutions to help drive the partner business.
Responsibilities
- (Co-) Sell: Opportunity support - Assist partners in winning sales by evaluating customer requirements, mapping those needs to the appropriate Microsoft solution(s) and thus helping the partner to determine the best solution for the customer. Providing a solution can involve feature/function mapping, positioning Microsoft solutions and equipping the partner with the best resources available to win the deal. Tools used may include discussion guides, white papers, demonstration toolkits and other tools as made available by the product teams. Partners may be seeking assistance in selling to both new and existing customers as well as migration and competitive scenarios. Broad questions regarding licensing may also be part of the solution assistance provided. Collaboration with field sales roles and other tele-based sales and service roles for best case resolution will occur as needed and determined by the sales support professional.
- Non-Opportunity Pre-sales Technical support
- Help with configurations, reliability, feature capabilities and comparisons, product demonstrations, scalability, interoperability, and migration in pre-sales situations.
- Provide general informational topics regarding proof points, TCO, ROI, cost/ value, performance, and licensing.
- Architecture Guidance – Understand the partner's business requirement, technical environment, and providing robust and scalable advice that meets the partner's current and future requirements. The solution should be aligned with the MS technical roadmap by leveraging MS patterns and practices.
- Deployment Guidance - Provide guidance and best practice information to drive efficient deployments with Microsoft products to/ through the partner.
- Technology Migration Assistance - Understanding the partner's existing technical environment and business requirements to suggest a solution based on latest MS technology. Also assisting in migration from competitive products.
- Best Practice Recommendation - Providing recommendations to partner using the MS patterns and practices, case studies and proven solutions, to help the partner build robust and scalable solutions
- Partner Project Consulting Assistance - Help the Partner in resource coordination and aide for their on-going projects related to sales, deployments or adoption of Microsoft solutions. Resources coordinated include SMEs, lab facilities, remote access capabilities, etc.
- Solutions Guidance – Understand and be adept at designing solutions to business needs utilizing Microsoft technologies and products. Have a solid understanding of the business value of infrastructure applications above and beyond technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experiences in programming, systems architecture or systems administration
- The ideal candidate can solve complex App Dev, Cloud Infrastructure and Modern Workplace challenges
- Experience delivering workshops for technology products and services
- Deep understanding of application development/DevOps, cloud computing, cloud infrastructure, data analytics and/or artificial intelligence.
- Broad understanding of large platform solutions (Microsoft 365), IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, Security, Storage, networking, OSS tools and/or emerging computing trends
- Experience on database related skills are preferred
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure highly preferred
- Self-starter with proven success taking ownership of consulting requests, technical learning
- Sample coding level in software development in one or more languages such as C#, Python, Java or similar
- Current MCT, MCSE, MCDBA, MCAD, MCSA or other Microsoft Premier certification(s) in the technologies supported will be preferred
- Business level of English communication (verbal and written) is required
