Responsible for managing and maintaining the patching of all Windows operating systems across the organisation. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, patch management tools, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsible for:  Patching of Server Estate

 

Responsibilities/Main Duties:

 

• Plan and implement patching procedures for Windows operating systems using SCCM, PowerShell, and Ansible.
• Design, develop and maintain scripts for automating patch management processes.
• Monitor patch management systems, ensuring that all security patches are up-to-date and installed in a timely manner.
• Perform troubleshooting for patching-related issues, including identifying and resolving any conflicts.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that patching schedules do not conflict with other IT activities.
• Review and test patches before implementation to ensure they are compatible with the existing environment.
• Maintain documentation related to patching procedures and update it as required.
• Monitor patching compliance and report on any vulnerabilities or risks.
• Keep up to date with the latest security trends and vulnerabilities to ensure that patches are applied promptly.
• Work with external vendors to identify and address any security issues that may arise.
• Actively seek opportunities to improve the patching operation and reduce the cost of operation.
