We have several per diem opportunities on our Patient Access Services Representatives team in both Augusta & Waterville. Position Highlights:
- Shift Differentials for eligible Evening, Night, Weekend and Holiday hours
- Flexible hours
Responsibilities:
- Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services.
- Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
- Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.
- Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive customer service experience
- Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
- 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
