We have several per diem opportunities on our Patient Access Services Representatives team in both Augusta & Waterville. Position Highlights:

  • Shift Differentials for eligible Evening, Night, Weekend and Holiday hours

  • Flexible hours

Responsibilities:

  • Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services.

  • Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.

  • Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

  • Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive customer service experience

  • Excellent and demonstrated communication skills

  • 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred

  • Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
