Job Overview
This position will act as a Project Payroll Manager (Project Focus) for transitioning new Daimler Trucks Financial Services for approximately 450 US and Canadian, Non Contractual employees. The chosen candidate will coordinate all of this through cross-functional team of MBFS-DNAC-DTNA-Mexico-PS IT, and act as liaison between Daimler and third party vendors for maintenance of Service Level Agreements, work with accounting on issuance of vendor payments, and reporting and financial recording.
Primary responsibility after transition is payroll processing through PeopleSoft on both a weekly and bi-weekly basis as well as special payment processing, as well as Tax, benefit, and wage attachment deduction processing. Must also maintain inbound and outbound interfaces with PeopleSoft, working with internal and external IT partners, and serve as the face to customer for employee inquires as well.
Responsibilities
- Project lead for transition/inquiring payroll processing for approx. 450 Non Contractual employees (US. and CAD)
- Train with MBFS payroll in their current processing of MBFS/DNAC payroll for which the new Daimler Trucks Financial Services payroll will start on December 1, 2021.
- Vendor management – Updating SLA’s for payroll partners like PeopleSoft, ADP, et all.
- Process monthly, biweekly and off cycle (PPSP, bonus, etc.) payrolls in PeopleSoft for Daimler Trucks Financial Services employees, both US and Canada.
- Ensure all legally required amounts are deducted from each employee’s gross pay, such as tax and appropriate benefit deductions, and remitted accordingly.
- Process and deduct any appropriate wage attachments.
- Coordinate with Accounting the payments to appropriate tax authorities, benefit providers, etc.
- Ensure the appropriate inbound/outbound interface files are processed and reconciled.
- All year-end W2/T4 processing and quarterly reconciliations performed in conjunction with outside third party administrator/s.
- Ensure processing of all new hires, re-hires, transfers, terminations and pay rate changes on a timely basis.
- Update employee address, personal contact, direct deposit, W4, and leaves of absence of absence notifications.
- Provide appropriate management reporting.
- Resolve all payroll inquiries.
- Work with MBFS benefits team to thoroughly understand all related benefits deductions and where to remit to.
