As a Time & Attendance Specialist, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate input of sensitive HR related data and the processing of employee time and attendance details. Answering employee and manager inquiries and resolving payroll issues in an expeditious and professional manner are also key aspects of this role. This position entails a high responsibility in terms of financial results, compliance and data privacy.

You are responsible for

  • Validates and approves personnel change actions in the HRIS system.

  • Performs accurate and timely entry of job, salary and personal data that is not interfaced from the HRIS system to the payroll system.

  • Analyzes and resolves data discrepancies between the HRIS and payroll database systems.

  • Verify employee time input has been captured and is in line with policies, procedures and processing rules. All identified exceptions must be reviewed and corrected before payroll processing.

  • Analyze pre- and post-payroll time and attendance audit reports to identify and correct payroll errors.

  • When applicable, process off-cycle checks as requested by representatives of the business units.

  • Complies with all Internal Control Standard (ICS) requirements in terms of supporting documentation and accuracy.

  • Function as Subject Matter Expert with regard to all aspects of HRIS, time and attendance and payroll system functionality, as well as, policies and procedures.

  • Provide Call Management System (CMS) support to handle employee inquiries regarding personnel records, time input, and a variety of non-health and welfare pay deductions (union dues, etc.).

  • Support HR, Benefits, Compensation, Onboarding and Finance colleagues with all phone, mail and e-mail requests.

  • Assist with or provide backup support for certain additional Administration and Payroll related functions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in a timely and satisfactory manner.

  • Contribute to departmental projects.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Thorough and diligent working style.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Basic knowledge of office applications (MS Excel; MS Word; MS PowerPoint; MS Outlook).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and attentiveness to detail.

  • Very accurate with basic math capabilities.

  • Ability to multi-task and complete objectives within strict time constraints.

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to coordinate priorities with Administration and Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HR managers and HR business partners.

  • Integrity and trustworthiness specific to confidentiality and privacy of employee information.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible work hours to ensure payroll deadlines are met.

  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes that can occur with vendor relationships, system updates, policies, etc.

  • Proactive in resolving issues with employees, businesses and other departments.

  • This position pays 21.50 per hour
