Job Description
Apex Fund Services is seeking a performance and risk account manager to work in a customer facing role. The ideal candidate will need at least 3 years functional experience gained in the funds or banking industry.
The successful candidate should possess a strong foundation in the support of Derivatives in one or more of the following: Foreign Exchange and Money Market, Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equities and Equity Derivatives, Commodities and Commodity Derivatives. The ideal candidate should also have exposure to performance / risk.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with customers to scope, gather, review, create, and implement their business / functional requirements
- Work closely with the Delivery Manager to set and manage customer expectations around client timelines
- Support customers in the day to day servicing of their business from a performance attribution and risk perspective
- Able to explain and review daily and monthly performance and risk numbers
- Responsible to manage and communicate issues between customer sand internal teams, and
- Coordinate client requirements and provide day to day oversight of client portfolios, etc.
Requirements
- 3+ years working experience in Hedge fund administration industry or at an asset manager / bank, or a similar reviewing performance and/or risk
- Strong knowledge and functional experience in any of the following asset classes: Foreign Exchange and Money Market, Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equities and Equity Derivatives, Commodities and Commodity Derivatives
- Experience in writing functional and business specifications with the ability to map conceptual financial and business elements to practical system capabilities would be a benefit
- A strong demonstrable record of customer service. The candidate will need to understand customer needs and build effective relationships. The Candidate must be able to convey plans, issues and concerns to clients and team members in clear, logical and concise manner
- Strong and demonstrable problem solving / analytical skills, strong time management skills
- Must be customer driven, have the ability to work within a team environment, and be focused on providing a high quality of service to the customer
- Excellent interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on educating and training customers, and patience and will be a key to success
- Have the ability to influence decision makers
- Candidate who has experience with Calypso (or similar system) will be an advantage
