Purpose of Role:

This role manages the deployment of IT projects within a region, ensuring overall schedule and benefits achievement (cost, time & quality).

This exciting role is part of the Mars Petcare Digital Technologies organization which is focused on bringing new technology to enable value creation and drive business objectives. Mars is embarking on a Digital Transformation journey and this role is a key contributor thru the deployment of digital capabilities to enable new business operating models (D2C, D2S, e-commerce, etc) as well as deploying digital solutions (ERP, Digital Analytics, Supply Chain, etc) to improve operational efficiency on our traditional business model.

THE JOB

The role operates across Petcare segment, collaborating with MGS DT, Petcare DT and business unit stakeholders to deliver projects within their region.   Primary focus of this role is assumed portfolio of NA Market projects/products.

The focus is on great project leadership to ensure project outcomes are achieved in terms of scope, cost, time & quality. The role will also be expected to embrace non-traditional implementation methods and tools such as Agile, Design Thinking, Analytics, JIRA and drive the “Zero Distance to the Customer” agenda, leveraging 3rd party expertise where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages the deployment of up to $1M+ in annual projects, securing benefits delivery through expert management of quality, costs and time.
• Leads a high performing team of up to 6+ contractors.
• Determines business processes and information requirements, gains unit commitment, and delivers effective business processes and system changes.
• Working across Segment and MGS Digital Technologies teams, determines system functional requirements and completes design in line with overall project aims.
• Oversees the build and delivery of the business application through the Development team and ensures successful handover to Core Services (Global Support Team).
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the relevant business area to aid in the development of accurate and concise functional requirements.
• Identify, influence stakeholders and implement automation and next generation digital capabilities whenever applicable to solve business problems.
• Applies technical and functional knowledge to design solutions which are in line with technical architecture, database design and performance requirements; and which are appropriate given the context within which they will be implemented.
• Analyses the business and systems impact of the solution and plans the detailed tasks required to achieve delivery of the fully tested solution.
• Lead internal and 3rd party resources during development, implementation and nurturing phases.
• During the build and implementation phases, carries out activities to configure software packages and/or manage technical resources or vendors.
• Delivers solutions which are quality and functionally tested, with supporting project documentation which meet functional and technical requirements.
• Applies the Mars competitive bidding process to run simple competitive bidding events, ensure associated governance is adhered to, and allocate business to suppliers.
• Utilizes the ServiceNow tool for planning resources, project milestones, financial management and risks.
• Engages Segment DT Senior Managers & Managers, and business unit Sr Leaders and Senior Managers to ensure successful project deployment and benefits achievement.
• Manages projects benefit deliveries by having an early discovery and alignment on responsible, target dates and metrics or indicators.
• Demonstrates knowledge and applicability of proven Project Governance, Management, and Delivery approaches, with an ability to flex my approach according to the Project
• Encourages others into collaborative ways of working; working out loud and promoting the usage of the right tools in groups
• Able to teach individual and communities of Associates on purpose and usage of our digital tools and best practices
• Understand and deliver Mars, Incorporated requirements for financial information.
• Use analytical tools and judgment to derive business insights in order to fully understand our financial performance and the drivers of performance.

Context & Scope:

Project Deployment Manager from Petcare DT side will ensure:

• Working closely with business stakeholders and Segment DT for alignment of problem statement and possible solutions/products for business
• Planning, leading and controlling of project activities as per PMX standards
• Management of Petcare DT teams, 3rd party and vendors; overall quality control of deliverables
• Sustaining critical functional knowledge in areas of Sales & Supply Chain products for Americas PET
• This role is part of overall Segment Deployment team, but each Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager is responsible for delivery of separate functional projects.

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualification

•            Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

•            Project management certification (PMI or SCRUM) preferred

•            5+ years’ experience in IT project delivery/management

•            5+ years’ experience leading technical and functional teams

•            Experience on D2C, D2S and/or E-Commerce businesses is a desired differentiation

•            Experience on managing Agile projects is a plus

•            Knowledge of IT solutions and/or relevant business area

•            Knowledge on Financial basis for project budgeting and financial planning.
