The WW Communications Team at Lenovo is hiring four summer Interns, located in
Lenovo’s offices in Research Triangle Park, (Morrisville) North Carolina, to
assist individual teams within the department, including: Data, Analytics, and
Insights Team; Brand Events & Experiences Team; Content, Platforms &
Storytelling Team; and Brand Purpose & Citizenship Team. The individuals in
these roles will work closely with respective communications team members to
support telling the Lenovo story in new, creative, and high impact ways across
channels in a way that measurably improves the Lenovo global brand and
reputation. Responsibilities, which will vary depending on the team, require
the ability to write and develop content for web/social/video, assist in event
planning and strategy, and work on our key PR and Communication initiatives.
The internships are designed to be a diverse experience of all facets of the
modern corporate communications department and an opportunity to learn best
practices. The position requires a high level of initiative, creativity, and
desire to learn and participate in many different projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Creating content for the company’s owned channels
• Using social media channels to engage Lenovo employees around product
launches, contests, and other promotional campaigns
• Assisting the WW Brand Events & Experiences Team in planning for major
global company events
• Working with the integrated comms teams on media planning, presentations,
and collaboration with PR and comms vendors/agencies
• Publishing stories on company-owned, shared, and paid channels
• Assisting the Data, Analytics, and Insights Team’s management of Lenovo’s
PR/comms data, analytics, and insights program
• Writing and developing content designed to engage and activate Lenovo’s
global employee base
#### Position Requirements:
Who You Are:
You definitely should have:
\- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, PR, or related field
\- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint,
Word, and Excel)
\- At least 1 year of experience in translating intention into action by
leading, organizing, or volunteering for a cause
It would be a plus if you have:
\- Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, and/or Audition) a plus
\- Basic understanding of online content publishing
\- Familiarity and knowledge of social media best practices (basic knowledge
of how platforms work and trends)
\- Understanding of the role of PR and the modern media landscape
\- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many different
people in a team environment
\- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to edit
and proofread many different types of written content
\- High level of creativity, in terms of both creative media content and PR
strategy
\- Positive attitude, open-mindedness, and willingness to learn new things
\- Demonstrated knowledge and respect for global cultures and issues,
particularly around inequality and education.
