The Bank of New York Mellon (BNYM) Physical Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining physical security at BNYM facilities.  This position is the first line BNYM point of contact for assigned shift security matters relevant to employees, clients, visitors and property in accordance with all regulations, policies and procedures. Security Specialists are responsible for taking a proactive approach to security operations to include; oversight of contract guard coverage for their assigned shift, making sound decisions regarding the need to dispatch, add, and/or post guards in response to specific needs or incidents, coordinating emergency responses to incidents, and educating contract guard staff in BNYM policies and standard operating procedures.  Qualified candidates are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of video monitoring and access control systems functionality within the role in physical security.  Other functions of the position include; enrollment and issuance of access cards, review of video monitoring system functionality, vendor support during maintenance or replacement of systems, some project and systems upgrade support where necessary, audit support and compliance, escalation and reporting of incidents, and submission of daily operational reports.  Security Specialists are responsible for the quality and completion of own work.  Position may be modified based upon local regulations/requirements.

Qualifications

High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience required,, bachelor's degree preferred. 2-3 years of total work experience preferred.
