Job Description – Pilot Plant Mfg Engineering Tech I

Purpose:

Demonstrates proficiency and technical expertise in regulated and cross functional capacity.  Provides oversight and coordination of technical resources. Functions as team leader on projects or specific tasks and effectively coordinates activities.

Responsibilities:

Plans and executes assigned tasks, maintenance and calibration activities (i.e. oral solid dose manufacturing equipment). Coordinates daily function-related activities. Coordinates activities of external contractors.

Uses experience and training to lead decision-making, trouble shooting and repairs. Prepares designs of components as required to solve technical issues.

Provides technical training to manufacturing and maintenance employees.

Conducts analysis and recommends solutions for issues. Revises and provides input to standard operating procedures, training modules, qualification protocols and quality system documents. Subject matter expert on equipment procedures.

Provides timely management of the calibration, PM and spare parts programs. Orders parts and prepares purchase orders for contract services.

Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Documentation and management of process and engineering data as per regulatory guidelines.

Daily upkeep of area in function and overall plant facility.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent education with ten years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.  Associates degree with eight years’ experience or a BS/BA with six years’ experience.

Good verbal and written communication skills. Good computer knowledge and good working knowledge of MSWord, Excel and Maximo.

Ability to take initiative to handle equipment performance issues autonomously.

Ability to serve as team lead by providing work direction to less senior employees.
