Job Description
Job Summary To contribute to the profit of the division using the methods, more effective systems and procedures in the Department of Purchasing, inventory control and sourcing activities. Buyer/ Planner will be responsible for scheduling the assembly and fabrication of the assigned lines production plan. In addition to scheduling the purchase orders and associated tasks, the position is also responsible for scheduling every individual manufacturing order and machine. The buyer/planner will ensure availability for all parts needed to manufacture an order according to the production plan. Job Responsibilities Maintain communication and updates with internal customers. Development and implementation of procedures to streamline and improve delivery time. Planning and ordering the necessary materials required for the production demand. Maintain inventory levels of materials in accordance with the objectives set monthly, kanban system. Expedite overdue materials to prevent the lack of raw material. Have direct communication with suppliers regarding material usage as per forecast. Give disposition to rejected material and create corrective action plans. Troubleshooting problem bills to pay our suppliers, avoiding the suspension of our credit Diverting materials for purposes of reducing inventory. Provide engineering support in the implementation of new materials. Provide customs department support for the importation of the raw material. Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepares production reports. May prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment. Qualifications Qualifications Preferred education level: Bachelor’s degree (L.A.E., Industrial Engineer, Bachelor’s degree in economics) or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in field is a plus. Years and area of experience required: Minimum 5 years of experience in the position or similar positions. Technical knowledge/Soft Skills: Computer Systems, ERP (i.e. SAP, MAPICS, JD Edwards) knowledge Molding, stamping and subassemblies planning knowledge Microsoft Office skills Supply Chain expertise. 90% minimum of English domain (talked and written). Visa (required). Soft skills: Results orientation. Strong Sense of Urgency.
