What will you do?
Responsible for Demand Planning to support global customers.
Partners with Marketing and Business Planning to develop a consensus product and material forecast by validating the forecast (and making adjustments when appropriate).
Develops appropriate safety stock recommendations for each product.
Analyzes customer order booking versus the forecast. Anticipates customer requirements and adjusts material plan as necessary after discussions with purchasing.
Analyzes forecast inaccuracies and drives resolution to address issues (i.e. is it due to mix, market, business, etc.).
Develops material plan (may be finished goods or raw material) based on S&OP forecast and booked orders.
Analyzes root cause for variance between actual orders and forecast.
Develops a recovery plan (or may work with the factory to put a recovery plan into place).
Analyzes historical requirements, including trending analysis, and issues periodic reports.
Identifies potential Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) exposure and works with markets to mitigate liability impact for assigned products.
Coordinates Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) process with Engineering, Materials and Quality.
Reviews ECNs and determines with Purchasing and Scheduling as to appropriate cut-over date changing from one part to another on a bill of material (BOM) to minimize material waste and excess inventory.
Collaborates on a daily basis w/ Purchasing, Operations, and Quality Teams.
Trained as back-up to purchasing (when required)
How will you get here?
Education
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Operations, or equivalent experience.
Experience
Experience using a MRP system.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Solid understanding of supply chain principles.
Creating/updating planning BOMs for existing products.
Proficiency in creating and presenting quantitative, summarized data via spreadsheets and graphs.
Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills
