LenovoBasingstoke, england, united kingdomUpdate time: April 7,2021
Job Description
Position Description:
We are Lenovo!
Currently the number one PC vendor worldwide, we continue to be the fastest
growing company in our respective field. We’re a leader in genuine innovation,
dreaming up – and building – the technology and services that enable and
inspire progress around the world.
We are dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurism
and ownership - a workplace where your talents can be challenged, and your
efforts recognized and rewarded. The EMEA eCommerce team is looking for a
candidate to help drive it’s 3 year and beyond growth strategy. On the back of
some significant external consultancy support work, we are looking for an
individual to take on the ownership of maintaining momentum in the projects
defined and initiated by that work (i.e. across 4P, Marketing, Sales, Supply
Chain, and many more) . They will be the focal point of programme managing the
execution of the critical and urgent workstreams, as bandwidth allows, with
relevant stakeholders. The Planning and Strategy Manager will also be the
focal point for driving continued evolution, enhancement, and development of
those strategies and workstreams – keeping the business accelerating in the
right direction with the right level of support.
In addition to the strategy development roles, the individual will also lead
the annual and quarterly planning exercises that need to be coordinated across
the eCommerce team. They will define the planning calendar; help produce the
required templates and aid in the production of the content where required.
With a strong financial and business acumen perspective, this individual will
develop a strong grasp on the fiscal status of the eCommerce business and help
the leadership team develop strong and aligned planning documents through the
various business planning processes.
Finally, this individual will also coordinate, on behalf of the EMEA eCommerce
team, all Business Development opportunities such as Marketplace, non-PC
business and more.
To support the above – this is a manager position with 4 direct reports
initially, with potential to grow over the coming 3 years.
• KPI: Revenue / Margin / PCON / Business Development KPI’s
• Direct Reports: 4 (initially, in year 1)
• Reporting: to EMEA Online Leader / Director
Responsibilities:
• Driving successful delivery of the Strategy framework established by
external consultants – and ensuring the business objectives, strategy
principles, and execution workstreams established by them and the Lenovo teams
continue to be delivered and continue to evolve and grow to help support the
delivery of our overall 3-year goals.
• Build and deliver annual and quarterly planning BMS for the Lenovo eCommerce
team – ensuring that we have the right planning schedule in place, delivering
the right content on time and to the right quality for our relevant
stakeholders.
• Be able to visually render our strategy to any relevant stakeholder – be
able to articulate our 3-year vision, strategy and plan to our local and
global teams.
• Ensuring our quarterly planning cadence is of the right level of quality and
detail and help the relevant eCommerce stakeholders deliver what is required
• Have a strong understanding of the eCommerce P&L, the dynamics of the
profitability drivers, work with our Sales Operations leader to be aware of
and manage our controllable expenses to ensure we hit our agreed P&L.
• Be accountable for key (non-Segment based) Business Development
opportunities outside of our core go-to-market model with PC’s – specifically
how we can grow new revenue streams that we have, to-date, not spent a
significant amount of focus on. Examples will include Marketplaces, non-PC
business, Employee Purchase Programmes, Bring Your Own Device, Affinity &
other partnerships, and innovations in the “Online meets Offline” world.
• Manage our engagement with Medion, a subsidiary of Lenovo in Germany.
• Manage four important team members:
o A Planning and Strategy support coordinator – this individual will be a key
interface between the Planning and Strategy Manager and the Online Sales
Manager (OSM) community / local markets to ensure effective execution of plans
and strategies in the sales teams
o A non-PC business development coordinator – someone who will lead the
stakeholder relationships with all our non-PC business partners (leaders) and
their teams – specifically in Accessories, Services, Workstations, Monitors
and Tablets.
o A Marketplace development project manager – who will act as the daily
support for building our Marketplace opportunity
o An eCommerce 4P data and pricing analyst – who will provide insights to the
local OSM teams so they can manage their line-ups and pricing in optimal
alignment to local market needs
• Ensure regular interlocks with all eCommerce and other stakeholder teams to
drive a strong BMS on strategy development, planning and business development
