Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Plant Controller to join our team. This position is based in Raleigh, NC RELOCATION WILL BE OFFERED! Position Overview: As the Plant Controller you will manage the execution of all RPO operational Finance site activities and all Raleigh Area Plants 3-Phase (3PH) Financial/Accounting activities. You will develop, enhance, maintain and utilize a production reporting system that supports the Plant Manager and plant leadership team with pertinent financial analysis and data to ensure maximum financial and operational performance as well as accurate and timely forecasts. You will also develop and maintain an accounting system that assures the financial records are complete, accurate and in compliance with company policy including period end closing activities. In this function you will: You will serve as the financial business partner to RPO Plant Manager and a key member of the plant leadership team taking an active role in driving results to profit plan/forecast. Including the following: Provide overall direction and development to the RPO finance team focusing on bringing in high potential individuals into the organization and building the capability of the existing team. The Plant Controller will continually raise the bar on their team performance and find creative and meaningful ways to build the skills within their function to help lead premiere performance. Analyze 3PH operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers, and evaluate their impact on planned objectives in order to maximize operational performance. Work closely with the supply chain team and other departments within the organization in driving key metrics in order to drive operational improvement. Track and maintain cost savings projects and economic trends. Develop cost savings metrics and review progress with project owners in order to drive and meet significant productivity goals Lead operational aspects of the annual profit plan by gathering inputs from plant leadership, F&A budget holders, and other key stake holders as needed. Prepare presentations to executive management Interface with budget holders in providing budget reports and forecasts on a monthly basis. Manage finance function through the development of financial processes to facilitate the requirement to deliver timely and accurate financial forecasts as well as timely and accurate month-end closing activities in order to provide accurate and timely operating results/statements/reports. Responsible for balance sheet integrity. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and proper reviews take place. Proactively identifies, evaluates and improves the financial controls for 3PH operations. Prepares and reviews Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and coordinates the annual SOX and ELC reviews. Establish financial plans and budgets as a guideline for performance. Monitor actual performance against those budgets. Interface with internal and external auditors. Support operations management in policy making and decisions aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing cost. Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement. Work with and support other Financial team members within the Raleigh Area Plants (RAP) matrix organization. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited educational institution Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in Accounting or Finance Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree or MBA Five (5) years professional experience in Accounting or Finance Previous experience in systems including SAP, Oracle Financials, Encore/Khalix and/or HFM Prior experience working in a manufacturing plant, preferably for an engineered or configured to order business. Experience with internal and external Audits Experience as a Manager of People Position Criteria: Passion for technology and product development Ability to interface globally and with other functional groups (sales, finance, marketing, engineering) Experience in cost accounting, financial planning, and forecasting Ability to think strategically and see big picture in dynamic business environment Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate articulately and professionally across many organizational levels and functions Highly motivated, works with a sense of urgency, driven to add value and deliver results Attentive to detail, personally committed to work quality and able to learn from mistakes Ability to lead and operate with high regard to integrity, trust, and confidentiality, ethics Strong working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, personally committed to work quality and able to learn from mistakes Ability to demonstrate intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
