The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

Scope of Role:

In this role, you will perform maintenance, installation, construction, remodeling, major overhauls and repairs to all types of plant facilities and equipment. We maintain production machinery and equipment requiring the use of trades and mechanics tools such as:

• Drill press, grinder, welder, saws, pipe threader, cutting torch, belter, shear, bending brake, fork lift truck, hand tools, etc.

We need demonstrates competency in the following areas:

• We need prior experience with machine maintenance and repair
• Rigging equipment and handling
• Installation of machinery and equipment
• Pipefitting
• Cutting and welding
• Sheet metal working
• General Carpentry

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• You will be performing various maintenance tasks on plant facilities and equipment.
• We expect the individual to maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and following applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.

Education & Experience:

• You will need to have a High School Diploma or GED
• Required to be 18 years of age or older
• We require a NY State Journeyman License (will consider if you have completed blue book requirements, have not tested yet, but will in the near future)
• We prefer prior work experience with large pieces of industrial and/or manufacturing equipment.
• You will work the initial shift will be 7:00a - 3:30p, but this role could be changed to any shift down the road. Willing to work any shift, nights, weekends, and holidays as requested.
• Mostly indoor, climate-controlled work environment. Production areas can be warm to work in, but some areas of the plant are fully air-conditioned.
