Job Description
Job Summary The plant manager sets overall policies and procedures to ensure safe, effective manufacturing/trading operations consistent with the Eaton Business System as well as Eaton Ethics, Values, Philosophy and policy. The Plant Manager leads the plant leadership team to develop plant strategy and tactics to achieve annual profit plan and long-term strategic plan goals and objectives. This role leads and implements Eaton Business System, especially in applying the tools and processes of Eaton Business System to deliver the business results. Interface with sales organization to ensure internal/external customer needs are met. Job Responsibilities Direct plant operations in alignment with corporate business strategy Manage, direct and lead organization talent management processes and employee engagement initiatives Employ continuous improvement initiatives throughout operations to reduce downtime, control supply chain and to improve overall customer satisfaction Ensure safe working environment through leadership and commitment to company safety standards Directs the planning and budgeting processes so that the needs of the plant are anticipated and operations are properly controlled. Directs and control the activities of the production operation at the facility, ensuring that a quality product is produced in a timely, efficient manner at the lowest possible cost. Ensures a safe work environment for all employees through effective management of plant supervisory personnel, implementation and maintenance of safety awareness and hygiene programs, and compliance with regulatory organizations' requirements. Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws and regulations. Directs the activities of the shipping function to ensure that customer orders are processed and filled in a timely accurate manner. Coordinates activities with traffic and physical distribution functions to ensure orders are shipped in an expedient manner at the lowest possible cost. Ensure compliance with import/export and trade activities. Directs the production and inventory control functions to ensure that the customer’s needs are met in a timely manner while utilizing the capacity of the operation in the most efficient manner #LI-MM3 Qualifications Education level required Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar). Years and area of experience required Minimum 10 years of progressive operations experience or experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry) Minimum 5 years of management/supervisory experience. Technical knowledge Previous plant manager experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge of current manufacturing, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 Soft skills Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
