Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Plant process engineer will be based of Kochi location and will directly report to Kochi Plant head. The main role is to identify, design and develop operating and control strategies to achieve productivity targets.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
 
  • Identifying productivity improvement opportunities and targets in production operations. Conducting process engineering evaluation of production unit operations and facility utilities, screen options, investigating and identifying process bottlenecks and constraints, map system capability and rank solutions with necessary cost-benefit analyses.
     
  • Identifying, developing and design improved operating and control strategies to achieve productivity targets.
  • Developing tracking programs and metrics for plant optimization and efficiency, and monitor the targets against budget/expected performance.
  • Analyzing plant performance and work with the operations team to ensure the plant operates optimally.
  • Developing and installing systems that ensure plant operators and line management understand the optimal run-point for each process to achieve efficiency targets
  • Working with the facility operations staff and line management to identify, communicate and transfer best operating facility practices.
  • Providing support for the facility process safety activities through implementation of management of change associated with asset management projects, operating plant hazard review revalidation, execution of project hazards reviews, completing OPHR action items
  • Providing process-engineering consultation and supporting to the site’s Production organization, to help troubleshoot and resolve process operating problems. Assisting operations to resolve product quality, reliability and operability issues.
  • Strong data analytical skills & should be familiar with MS excel

SKILLS

  • Good commercial acumen and ability to analyse the data to drive business decision. 
  • Must have a hands-on and proactive approach 
  • Good communication skills.
     

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably Btech/ BE in chemical or a related field, and 5 to 7 years of experience

  • Hands-on experience in chemical industry preferable
     
  • Excellent computer literacy 
     
  • Strong reporting capability and advanced knowledge of Excel would be a plus.
     
  • Demonstrates experience of working within a dynamic, flexible and fast paced environment with a high work ethic.
