DCPAE supports Intel’s server customers.  We enable large manufacturers to use Intel products.  We resolve customers’ technical issues and questions and create product documentation.

The successful candidate will find themselves working with Intel’s cutting edge technologies.  Platform Application Engineers (PAEs) work closely with the largest server manufacturers  and cloud companies in the world.  PAEs enable those companies to use the latest interfaces.  The PAE works closely with product designers, architects and validation engineers at Intel and at Intel’s customers.  The PAE helps customers to resolve issues.  PAEs do this by regularly meeting with customer engineers, using advanced tools to resolve technical issues and documenting Intel’s products and describing how to implement Intel’s products on customer platforms. 

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units (CPUs) and/or peripheral equipment.

• Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports.

• Ensures products conform to standards and specifications.

• Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risk.

• Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems.

• Initiates, guides, and coordinates overall design and development of new ideas and products.

• Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.

• Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ months of experience or relevant course work in:

• Microprocessor architecture, chipset architecture, system architecture, or platform hardware and/or firmware design.

• Lab and debug skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board design and/or development experience would be an added advantage.

• Experience with lab tools including DMMs, Protocol analyzers and high-speed oscilloscopes for example.
