The Role:
This candidate will be responsible for developing construction documents including the equipment layout, P&IDs, plumbing isometrics, plans, control sequences, and specifications for plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning and other systems of major size and complexity. The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate with engineers, architects, and construction managers to ensure that all technical areas are covered and that all project objectives and schedules are met.

Responsibilities:

• Stamp and seal drawings for permit submittal.

• Design of building plumbing and hydronic systems

• Writing of project reports and specifications

• Coordinating work with clients and other consultants as well as in-house staff from other disciplines

• Engaging with contractors for pre-construction and construction support activity

• Engineering analysis work, including load calculations and equipment sizing

• Developing plumbing isometrics, industrial water P&IDs, project specifications, and sequences of operation,

• Perform construction administration such as answering RFIs and shop drawing submittals and on-site inspections.

• Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

• Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project.

• Project Coordination: Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.

• Provides guidance and direction to others from the same project and discipline. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.

• Owner Focus: Responsible for assisting with identification of key owner interests and drivers on moderately complex projects. Communicates owner interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects.

• Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area. Actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer capable of licensing in all states

• Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or related majors

• Experience in plumbing systems of similar complexity including multi-story buildings, central plants, hospitals and similarly complex structures

• Minimum of 6 years related work experience

• Several years AutoCAD and Revit experience is required

• Be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and take ownership of workload.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of designers/engineers

• Firm grasp of relative Electrical and mechanical design concepts as it relates to plumbing coordination and interface

• Demonstrated experience in project delivery methods and coordinating MEP design and construction processes

• Excellent communication skills essential for team-based working

• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment

• Ability to write reports and assess plumbing systems and construction quality

• Construction Administration experience including Site observation visits, RFI and Shop drawings

• Knowledge and experience of sequences of operation and hazard and operability studies
