Point of Care (POC) Business Development Manager

The Point of Care Business Development Manager is responsible internally for business excellence and externally for building relationships with other POC companies who work in the same space. As part of the diagnostics business unit you will contribute, coach and drive the development of the POC business by assisting in winning competitive accounts and retaining existing customers. The BDM POC will be a member POC Management Team.
Partly responsible for increasing win rate and ensure that the highest level of tender responses is submitted. You will ensure close working relationships with other Siemens Healthineers healthcare sales teams especially Laboratory Diagnostics where it is expected you will work together on appropriate blood sciences tenders.
Responsibilities:
Internally
- Tender and Bid Support: Partner with other POC sales managers to develop a cohesive set of POC responses for tenders and bids.
- Sales Process: Ensure projects and bid preparation from opportunity development to contract negotiation with direct involvement where necessary.
- Sales targets: Whilst no sales growth or target is assigned to the role, you will directly be responsible for tender offerings leading to an overall annual growth requirement.
- Leadership: Provide business excellence in tender responses and influence adoption of best practices by less experienced sales people.
- Sales tools: Ensure the efficient and timely usage of Siemens CRM sales management tools, Shareville and Dx Configurator in the POC Sales team to ensure availability and accuracy of relevant sales information.
- Training: Ensure that all team members are trained on processes and available tools to the required standards.
- Information collection and reporting: Monitor and report on competitor and marketplace trends to allow rapid reaction to market movements and ensure win rate is maintained.
Externally
- Business Development: Establish a network of internal and external colleagues to develop new sales opportunities and channels for POC products. Work across pathology, imaging, and Key Account Management teams to extend the products reach beyond traditional commercial channels. Research institutions, organisations, and individuals to help identify new leads and potential new markets.
- Market Development: Performs analyses to evaluate opportunities for new markets, channels or customer target groups. Stays on top of trends in the POC market by taking advantage of educational opportunities, following professional/clinical publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional and clinical organisations/societies/conferences. Develops and delivers customer presentations demonstrating the benefits of existing POC solutions as well as new products developed over time.
· Communication: Provides updates and feedback on business and market development activities to ensure maximum coordination across the POC function at regular intervals Collects, collates, and prioritises customer needs beyond current offerings to be fed back through marketing to support product development feedback. Organises introductions, solution presentations, and strategic meetings including a wide range of stakeholders with potential business partners.
Skills & Experience:
- Life sciences degree or equivalent
- Significant experience of working in the Clinical Diagnostics Marketplace with strong clinical knowledge and background of tests requirement.
- Good knowledge of the GB&I POC market
- Proven experience of responsibility for business planning and opportunity prioritisation.
- Experience of managing and influencing indirect reports, peers, and leadership.
- Good knowledge of Siemens POC product line or demonstrate the ability to gain the knowledge.
- Proven entrepreneurial spirit and execution.
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism with both internal and external customers and partners.
- The candidate will require good communication skills and must be able to think strategically across all modalities.
- Capable of working independently and functioning as part of an integrated team.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to energise and motivate people.
