The main objectives of this position are to manage multi-asset portfolios that adopt an active asset allocation and risk management approach. The TFM Portfolio Manager will collaborate with relevant investment professionals both in AIAIM and AIA Group Investment to formulate and implement Tactical Asset Allocation and currency decisions as well as perform overall portfolio management. The PM is expected to also decide on strategies to deliver beta exposure using a variety of instruments and tools to optimize the investment outcomes as well as be experienced with the use of derivatives for efficient portfolio management. In addition, with the support of Middle Office & Client Servicing teams the PM will be expected to report performance to stakeholders. The PM will be the primary point of contact for fund management issues related to the portfolios, mandates, or funds managed by the team. The scope of responsibilities encompass critical parts of insurance fund management. The Portfolio Manager is expected to work seamlessly with teams in Group Investment and in AIAIM to achieve its objectives. The Portfolio Manager will also interact closely and manage communications with asset owners and key stakeholders as well as to support product & sales teams in the promotion of ILPs.

Drive implementation of Total Fund Management portfolios and continually seek to evolve and optimize investment processes in order to improve risk adjusted performance

Operate proper governance framework to facilitate investment decision making and performance review

Participate in the design and responsible for implementation of Dynamic Asset Allocation plan; Construct and manage funds according to investment mandate on asset allocation

Collaborate with the asset class portfolio management teams in AIAIM to obtain inputs into the asset allocation process and contribute to the Group’s TAA decision processes

Execute asset allocation and other investment strategies either via rebalancing of cash exposures or thru derivative overlay with reference to Group Investment Consulting Unit’s TAA recommendations

Monitor cash levels and funding needs for portfolios including funding needs for illiquid parts of the portfolio arising from capital calls

Enhance and standardize risk and performance reporting. Report on fund performance to asset owners and key stakeholders. Responsible for the overall performance of portfolios managed and for articulating the basis of how that performance was derived in the context of views and tactical positions adopted.

Work closely with the Product teams of the respective BUs to explain key market developments, portfolio management decisions and performance impacts and view pertaining to the ILPs distributed. From time to time, the PM and team may be requested to present to sales teams and clients as well as support the preparation of communications to distribution channels and clients.
