Clinical Manufacturing and Supply (CM&S) is accountable for the manufacture, sourcing and supply of investigational medicines to AstraZeneca’s extensive portfolio of clinical trials. We partner across multiple functions to ensure supply to all our sponsored small molecule trials (phases 1-4), all late phase sponsored biologic trials and any externally sponsored or sponsored trials using the investigational product.

Your core purpose will be to manage this complex and critical business in an optimised way. It is key at portfolio level that we understand, quantify and influence demand, understand internal and external capacity and match capacity with agreed demand in an efficient way to optimally deliver our portfolio. Measure the overall performance of CM&S and improve the visibility and use of key data across the end to end supply chain.

Key accountabilities:

You will:

• Own, lead and develop the portfolio planning process for our manufacturing and sourcing activities.
• Develop Resource planning linked to our Long Range Plans
• Co-ordinate the escalation and prioritisation process
• Work with the Leadership Team to develop and manage our KPI’s & metrics driving performance improvement
• Improve visibility, use and presentation of key data across the end to end supply chain ultimately developing user friendly control towers for key data

Essential Criteria:

• Experience of complex demand & planning management
• Experience in KPI & metric collation, interpretation and development to drive business performance
• Experience and capability in data management
• Degree or equivalent experience

Desirable Experience:

• Experience of Clinical or Commercial Supply ideally with some level of professional training (e.g. APICS or Manufacturing Professionalism)
• Awareness of the Drug Development process
• Awareness of drug substance, drug product, packaging, distribution and clinical supply and more in-depth experience in at least one of these areas
• Experience of leading cross-functional, multi-cultural teams or networks
• Awareness or experience of business process management and/or Lean
• Experience with Data hubs, Power BI and other dashboard solutions
