Postdoctoral Fellow – Oncology Research
Live
This could be your everyday
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will be provided with an enriching environment to inspire innovation that will contribute to the development of human therapeutics.
The lab of Kristin Tarbell in the Oncology Department in Amgen Research is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with expertise in innate immunity to use tools such as Hi-C and single-cell ATACseq to measure the epigenetic state and function of myeloid cell populations with the goal of better understanding the immune-modulatory capacity of macrophages.
The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate within Amgen with both immunologists with expertise in innate immunity and myeloid biology and with geneticists who have developed a pipeline for generating and analyzing Hi-C and single-cell ATACseq datasets. The successful candidate will study expression of candidate genes in myeloid cells and relevant epigenetic changes in these cells, following up with in vitro and in vivo functional assays. Existing omics datasets, both internal and publicly available will also be used as resources.
The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged and expected to develop an independent line of research based on initial studies and to present at scientific conferences and publish in leading journals.
The chosen candidate will have opportunities to interact with other postdoctoral fellows, scientists, and drug discovery teams while having access to state-of-the art technologies and resources including single-cell omics, human genetics and in vitro and in vivo models.
The postdoctoral position is for 3 years with the option to extend for an additional year.
