What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will be provided with an enriching environment to encourage innovation that will contribute to the development of human diseases.
The lab of Bryan Vander Lugt in the Inflammation Research Department at Amgen is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the field of immunology to study antigen presentation and secondary signals in peripheral immune tolerance and autoimmune disease.
The focus of the postdoctoral fellow is to explore secondary signals associated with peripheral immune tolerance, including the genetic programming of relevant specialized antigen presenting cells. This position will also include opportunities to probe therapeutic strategies for antigen-specific immunomodulation in autoimmune disease. This position is ideal for those seeking to understand the fundamentals of therapeutic discovery and translational biology while honing their skills as an independent investigator passionate about basic science.
The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged and expected to develop an independent line of research based on initial studies and to present at scientific conferences and publish in leading journals. The successful candidate will operate in the context of a highly collaborative environment, with ample opportunities to interact with other postdoctoral fellows, scientists, and drug discovery teams and access to state-of-the art technologies and resources including single-cell omics, human genetics and in vitro and in vivo models to study neuro-immune interactions.
The postdoctoral position is for 3 years with the option to extend for an additional year.
