Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will mainly assist the research team for a Coastal Wetland Research Project (R&D Project R6322).

The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • Conducting various experiments in the science laboratory and field sites;
  • Conducting analysis on samples collected from coastal wetland;
  • Conducting routine microorganism isolation and cell culturing;
  • Providing support in literature review and data analysis;
  • Working with the Principal Investigator/supervisors to prepare report writing; and
  • Conducting other research activities as instructed by Principal Investigator.

 

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A PhD degree (for Postdoctoral Fellow) and a Master’s degree (for Research Associate) in Environmental Biology or a related discipline;
  • A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals;
  • Research experience in proteomics/cell biology/environmental monitoring;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and interpersonal skills;
  • Preference will be given to those with technical experience in protein mass spectrometry/flow-cytometer/flow injection analyzer; and
  • Very good command of English and Chinese.

 

Compensation Package
Competitive compensation package including basic salary and end-of-contract gratuity will be provided to the right candidate.  Fringe benefits such as annual leave, staff development leave, staff learning and development sponsorship and medical & dental benefits will also be provided.
