Postdoctoral Positions in Neurobiology & Pharmacology in Guangdong, China
The Laboratory for Synaptic Plasticity at Shantou University Medical College, Guangdong, China, is currently seeking postdoctoral scholars. Research areas include the neural and circuitry basis underlying social behaviors, learning and memory in physiological and pathological conditions, and the structure and function of the glycine receptor. A variety of approaches such as patch-clamp electrophysiological recording for both brain slices and isolated cells, stereotaxic surgery, optogenetic and chemogenetic manipulation, mouse behavioral testing, confocal immunofluorescence imaging, cell culture and molecular biology are used.
Two-year positions are available with a salary in the range 340,000 - 520,000 CNY per year before tax. Outstanding postdoctoral scholars may achieve the upper limit of the salary by applying for various provincial support programs, and may also be offered contract extensions. Accommodation is provided free of charge. For reference, typical living expenses are around 3000 CNY per month for one person.
Prerequisites
1. Candidates must have obtained a doctoral degree within the previous three years in a related field.
2. Candidates must be no older than 35 years.
3. Priority will be given to candidates with a strong technical background in one or more of the approaches listed above.
