Job Description
Description: A postdoctoral position in mouse genetics is immediately available at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute for a highly motivated scientist. The main focus of the project is systems genetics of myopia in the mouse model. The postdoctoral scientist will be responsible for mapping chromosomal loci underlying refractive eye development, and identification and characterization of candidate genes using systems genetics approaches and gene-targeted mouse models.

Primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing research studies, collecting and analyzing data, preparing research results for publication, presenting at national and international meetings.

Requirements:
- Ph.D. in mouse genetics, molecular genetics, molecular biology, or a related field
- Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English
- Established track record of publishing in peer-reviewed research journals
- Experience with computational methods of genetic analysis
- Strong background in molecular genetics and molecular biology
- Experience with next-generation sequencing technology would be a plus
