Job Description
Position Overview Work closely with PCD engineering team to identify, analyze, and validate advanced power electronics topologies in the areas of current switching and fault current interruption. Participate in defining, analyzing, and validating electronic control and power circuits for hybrid/solid state circuit breakers and solid state combination motor starters. Contribute to the development, design, build, test evaluation and documentation of hybrid/solid state circuit breakers and solid state combination motor starters employing Agile Start project management process. Collaborate with PCD multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) to achieve the project goals. Generate value added intellectual property. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Actively enrolled in a master's degree program. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship on an on-going basis. Proficient in using test equipment such as scopes, signal generator, multi-meter. Proficient in test data analysis and preparation of test/project reports Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round). Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles Moon Township, PA Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience in developing power electronic devices such as converters, drives and circuit breakers. Proficient in design & simulation tools such as Altium Designer, PSIM, ANSYS Simplorer, LT SPICE, MATLAB Simulink, and C language programming Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and implement repairs. Strong understanding of electrical power systems Enthusiastic, creative, and self-motivated individual Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, Strong computer skills, including well versed in MS Office and engineering software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
