Eaton’s Power Embedded Electronics Center of Excellence (CoE) has an opening for a Power Lab Supervisor/Engineer located in Raleigh, NC. Eaton’s Power Embedded Electronics Center of Excellence accelerates the company’s growth through the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provides a foundation for our business to develop innovative products more rapidly. Power Lab Supervisor/Engineer will play a key role in managing the power lab, supervising all lab activities, and safety as the lab supervisor, supporting the projects with setting up the test benches, performing DVT, and providing test reports as the test engineer and acquiring the electronics, electrical, and mechanical components as the component engineer. In this role you will: Provide direct supervisory oversight of all lab activities and safety. Work with the lab technician for lab organization, equipment calibration, building test fixtures, and preparing the test benches for the projects Perform functional tests for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) Perform validation of power conversion and protection platforms and products Document test setup designs via electrical wiring schematics and mechanical assembly drawings Create test summary reports and provide data analytics Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, DVP and DVT reviews Identify the electronics, electrical, and mechanical components for the designs, create the BOM, and acquire them When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience Experience in lab management and lab activity supervision Experience in working in a power lab environment Experience and knowledge of high voltage safety (e.g., safety procedures/practices, PPE, etc.) Experience with PCBA and power electronics testing Working experience with test equipment including programmable DC/AC source, oscilloscope, power analyzer, signal generator, DAQ, etc. Ability to work with schematics and PCB layouts Understanding of analog, digital, and power circuits Strong written communication and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing PCB layouts Experience in maintaining parts libraries, building schematic symbols, and PCB footprints Experience in high voltage and power electronics testing Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes Position Criteria Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual.
